In 2016, I received a call from animal control regarding a case of neglect they had been investigating for nearly three years. The situation involved 22 Arabians, including four stallions, all living in a hoarding situation. I accompanied the animal control team to assist with haltering the stallions, and what I saw broke my heart. These magnificent animals were living in extremely cramped pens, with overgrown hooves and lacking proper care.
Feeling a strong sense of responsibility, I knew that I couldn’t simply stand by and watch them suffer. Animal control had planned to seize and euthanize the horses the next day, but I was determined to find a way to help. Without hesitation, I decided to take all of the horses under my care.
However, when we returned the next morning to load the horses, the owner had released them onto a sprawling 20-acre property. Chaos ensued as we attempted to corral the four stallions and 18 mares. Despite the mayhem, we successfully loaded all 22 horses onto the trailer, and to my amazement, not one of them hesitated to embark on the journey to their new home.
Every donation no matter how big or small greatly helps! We now have 32 horses at the farm. All monetary donations are 100% tax deductible. We are happy to provide a donation receipt, complete with our 501c3, non profit tax identification number.
